Davis Eller’s first wife, Harriett Maney Eller, was listed as a “full

certify his children as Cherokee citizens. Shortly after the death of
his first wife in 1890, Davis B. Eller and his four children moved
west and settled near Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Davis B. Eller was a farmer
and rancher and he settled seven miles northeast of Tahlequah on the
Illinois River. He also opened a grocery store and post office in a
community that was known as Ellersville, Oklahoma, from March 25, 1914
to December 31, 1954. It appeared on many maps during that period.
About 1920, Davis B. Eller moved to Skiatook, Oklahoma, where he
opened another grocery store. All of his family moved with him except
his daughter Leona. Later he closed-out the grocery line and
converted his store into a “farmer’s market.” He operated that
business until her turned it over to his youngest son, Raymond, in
1933, when he retired. (From Hermon E. Eller, 220 N. Broadway,
Skiatook, OK 74070; EFC, Vol.VI, #4, p.256_
